Ultramax Chip Timing Solutions
Our chip timing technologies, software and equipment are simply the best available. Ultramax will operate three of the most advanced chip timing systems in the world. We can provide systems that offer a greener chip recycling option or the very latest in disposable race numbers with embedded timing chips. Ultramax provides live timing services to more than 70 contracted events each year. We deliver timing solutions to events ranging from 200 to over 15,000 finishers. Our timing crews have the technical training and equipment needed to handle the most complicated timing situations.
IPICO Sports Timing System - Our Green Recyclable Timing Chip Option
The IPICO Sports Timing system offers considerable performance advantages over alternative technologies. This same technology is used in homeland defense, tracking of explosives and in vehicle identification. The high read-range and robust anti-collision mechanism allow successful timing locations for events with the most demanding environmental conditions and high densities of participants. All with virtually 100% accuracy. The timing tags are roughly half the size of a credit card and are worn on a shoe. The tag is absolutely non-intrusive to runners. This is our most popular option for running events.
MyLaps BibTag System - The Disposable Race Number Chip Option
The BibTag System is the very latest in timing technology. This system combines the race number and the timing tag into a more friendly handling process. This system dramatically reduces the time needed to handle, issue and recover timing chips. The modular mat design allows a flexible width for each timing point. The accuracy of results are simply amazing and the system can handle extremely high volumes of start and finish line passes. Ultramax will begin to offer this timing option in the Summer of 2010!
AMB ChipX Timing System - The Perfect Solution for Cycling, Lap Races and Non-Traditional Sports Timing.
The AMB Chip X System is one of the most advanced chip timing systems in the world today. The ChipX system can accurately score up to 80 ProChips per second, at speeds up to 50 mph. The perfect and perhaps only real solution for multi-sport, cycling and high speed lap events. The Active system has been designed to provide accurate results to 1/100th of a second and a 100% capture rate without the need for redundant back-up points. The detection loop is adjustable to a full 12m (39 ft) depending on your course layout needs. The loop/wires can be taped directly to the course surface or even embedded. They are very low profile and will not interfere with sprint finishes. There are NO mats to run, ride or swim over.
Virtual Registration - We can provide and set up multiple computer stations at packet pickup. Athletes simply register themselves as they arrive at packet pickup. We can even process credit cards, checks and cash transactions with this service. ?

NEW IN 2010 -Ultramax Facebook Results Application - Our new Facebook application will revolutionize the way LIVE timing is done! All an athlete has to do is simply sign up to receive Facebook results from Ultramax. After that, any participating event will be able to post finish and split times directly to that participants Facebook wall. How cool is that? Athletes will be able share their accomplishment with the world. Think of the incredible marketing effect this will have for your event. Once we upload the final data, we can immediately send e-mail notification to your participants. Your athletes will have access to results online before they get home from the event! This option is only available if your event is collecting e-mail information with the data entry process.

The Athletes Honey Milk Trailer is “NOW” available for most timing and contracted events. This new trailer features air conditioned and heating timing and officials areas, a fold down stage for your announcer, 1000 Watt Sound System, outdoor lighting, two awnings (on each side), and a 6000 Watt Honda Super Quiet Generator. The trailer is a great addition to any event. No additional fees apply for using the trailer. When racers report on race day to pick up their chips we confirm and check their entry information. Our equipment services are custom tailored to each specific event. If needed, we can simply provide everything down to the last zip tie and duct tape.

Whether it's a criterium, time trial or road race or mountain bike race, we provide results “LIVE” as the race progresses. Our timing system works for your event by providing your announcer and official staff with their own view of live rider passings for the entire race field, as it happens. As racers complete the race or each lap of the course, it's critical to have a scoring system that accurately tracks each racer's efforts. Our Orbits software keeps tabs on each riders laps, race category and so much more. Continuously updated “LIVE” results are provided via computer terminals throughout the event as racers finish.
The capability of scoring the entire race field and providing immediate and accurate results will help attract and motivate both veteran and new cycling participants. Our timing system has virtually eliminated the historical dispute issues that seem to come standard with the sport of cycling.

Your racers will have access to online results before they get home from the event.
Your announcer can view this data LIVE as it happens. He/she will be able to keep racers and spectators excited about the on going race. Real-time race results and lap times can be viewed, printed and displayed on an external public screen.
JUST HOW ACCURATE IS IT The AMB Chip X timing platform and the Orbits 4 Software will revolutionize the scoring and presentation of cycling events. The professional field at the Glencoe Grand Prix had a truly amazing photo finish outcome. Our AMB Chip X system scored the winner at a margin of .001 seconds. Three race officials and this digital photo taken confirmed the outcome. This system simply delivers as advertised!

Comprehensive Finish Line & Equipment Services Custom Aluminum Finish Line Truss
Our custom finish line structures makes a dramatic event statement. Our finish line meets USA Cycling standards and can span up to 28 feet wide and extends over 14 feet tall. It has 11 feet high ground clearance.
The Finish Line package can include custom printed finish banners. These banners are printed with YOUR specific event graphics and/or sponsor logos. You also have the option to print your own banners, we can supply the specifications.
New Lexcor Finish Line - This new structure stands over 12 feet tall and has impressive 4' X 4' towers supporting each site. The entire structure is wrapped in custom printed Lexcor panels. This creates a very big finish line presence and big event feel!
Custom Aluminum Stage
We have an 8' x 12' Aluminum Stage. The stage is 24" tall, has steps, skirting and back railings for banners.
Generators - We can provide up to five for any event power needs, extra power cords and lighting systems can be provided.
Event Sound Systems - We have two 1000 Watt sound systems available. Our system features both wired and wireless microphones. Event music (ipod or CD) can be hooked directly in to the system We can provide event music with our system
Three 20X20 White Ultramax Suspension Tents - These tents can be anchored on grass or concrete.
PVC Finish Line Barricade - We can provide up to 2,000 linear foot of white fencing - This barricade makes a very nice finish line presentation for your event
Steel Finish Line Barricade - We have access to 2,000 linear feet of the traditional steel crowd control barricade. This is perfect for larger events or events needing more security.
Cones/A Frame/Mile Marker S
igns - We can provide up to 600 Large and 100 Small Traffic Cones. A-Frame Directional Arrow Signs/Race in Progress Warning Signs are also available. We have 26 Mile Marker Signs. These signs are approximately 3 X 2 foot white a-Frame type.
Bike Racks - Triathlon, enough for up to 1,000 bikes
Event Tables - We have 10-12 white event folding tables available for your event needs.
Additional Equipment Available - Swim Buoys, and just about anything you would needed it to produce an event!

Pricing Packages
We invoice most events at a minimum per day rate. Once the minimum fee is reached, a simple flat fee per entrant applies. We prefer to tailor our proposals specifically around your event. The size of the event, location, scheduling conflicts and sponsorship opportunities can all effect our event pricing structures. We are ready to customize a comprehensive service package around your event. Our systems are very flexible and we are quite sure we can accommodate your event needs.
Pricing Notes:
A MINIMUM TIMING FEE DOES APPLY TO EACH EVENT
- Our individual timing fees applies to EACH paid registered participant in the event.
- Any lost chips must be replaced. Chip pricing varies depending on timing system used.
- Lodging & Mileage expenses for Ultramax staff members Ultramax vehicles are NOT included in our rates and will be apply based on the event specifics.
- The event organizers must agree to supply ALL needed volunteers specifically dedicated to assisting with chip distribution, chip collection, backup timing and the related equipment setup and take down process.
